Ah but what is that I hear you asking? What's in it for you? Where are the profits? The Mula? Gratitude is all well and good, but where is the payoff?

We'll get to the commissions in a minute - but for the moment, let's just assume that your referrals just stick with their free versions - are you then out of the picture? Only if you want to be; by which I mean, if you really aren't interested in building a business of your own.

If you've been on the Internet for any length of time, you must have heard the refrain that when it comes to marketing online, "the money is in the list." What that means is that, when you have your own list of prospects, you can theoretically sell to them over and over again.

You don't get a commission, but you get their name and email address on your list of sub-affiliates.

The Wonderful Magic of Cookies

Now, how on earth can they possibly be doing that? you're no doubt saying to yourself. Ah, but that's where the magic of cookies comes in.

To explain this a bit further, let's say, hypothetically, that a fellow we'll call "Harry" clicks on your affiliate link, visits the site and opts to just download a couple of the free portfolios. He thinks they're just ordinary, run of the mill e-books, so he lets them sit on his desktop for a few days. 

But one evening, with nothing better to do, he actually clicks one open and is instantly spellbound by its contents. He can't believe that he could have gotten anything this good for free! 

Excited now, he settles back and reviews the entire document, page by page. Of course, along with the amazing informational value, he immediately grasps the astounding affiliate income potential. He's blown away. There's simply too much to process all in one sitting, but he knows that he's finally hit upon something with life-changing potential.
