Step 7:  Get Your Own Domain Name & Set up your "Perpetual Profits" Starter Site

Let's begin by calling a spade a spade here. You must get your own business web site - and it'll likely cost you a small monthly fee, or you can pay for it a year in advance (a smart thing to do) and pocket the savings. Either way, websites are the bargain of the century. (You'll find all the info you need to know in our "Planning Your Site" and "Getting Set up Online" documents.)

You're also going to have to come up with some catchy domain name and go ahead and register it before you can sign up for our affiliate programs - since most require or request a website URL (domain name) when you join. Don't worry, you can register a domain for around $8.00 - $12.00 nowadays, so you aren't going to break the bank carrying out this simple task. 

You don't have to take notes, we have step-by-step assignments, along with some other helpful suggestions, at the end of this letter:-)

Okay, now let's say you've got your domain name and, to move this along, you've lined up a hosting service or you've already got one. Just what are you going to put on your website? What are you going to use for content? Well, I know I am going to disappoint some of you here, but you have got to believe me when I tell you that I'm doing this for your own good. 

Fact is, anyone who offers you a "ready made business" is offering you a scam, plain and simple. Know why? Because you are getting the exact same thing that hundreds, if not thousands of others are getting - a duplicate web site - one that hasn't a hope in hell (excuse my language) of ever getting listed in the Directories or the Search Engines that matter. 

More importantly, a "ready made" web site" will NEVER EARN YOU serious recognition by either the BIG NAMES online (the one's you'll want to joint venture with) or by web surfers, who are much smarter than you think, and can readily spot copycat sites when they click on to them -- and just as quickly click off.

Do you think it didn't occur to me to offer ready made sales pages for all my portfolios? What could have been simpler? Lord knows, after all the months I've put in to create the graphics and content for the books and sites, creating a few sample sales pages would have been a piece of cake. 

It sure was tempting. And I could have advertised *YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE TO WRITE YOUR OWN COPY OR CREATE YOUR OWN WEB PAGE* which would have sounded so enticing to those of you who haven't been online long enough to know any better.

But tempting as it was to put my graphics design background (Yup, 4 years at Cornell's School of Design and Human Ecology) to use and create whole packages, I knew that in the end I would be doing a serious disservice to all of you by doing so. 

Beyond this, I knew that I would be doing a serious disservice to my ultimate goal, which is to run a program which is characterized by integrity, superior workmanship and quality service.

I genuinely want to help you build your own unique business.  My goal with the WebSuccessMastery series is to provide you with the tools and information you need to get you started, to get you up and running on the right footing, not to do all the work for you so that you don't develop the skills and know how necessary to take over and carry on when it comes time to do so.

So... no cookie cutter templates for you to download and upload... You are actually going to have to use a bit of ingenuity and creativity in developing your business model around our system. 

But... I can provide you with a whole host of tools and some guidance on what to do with them:-)

First off, you will find all the graphics you could ever possibly want at our Associate Promo Central, along with a fair sampling of ad copy, although it really shouldn't be that difficult to come up with a few snappy lines of your own. Just review the 8 Steps (at the right) and write what you think of our system - your take on it.

If you have purchased a portfolio or one of our discount portfolio packages, you will have most of your content already pre-packaged. All you will have to do will be to write a few blurbs about what you are offering your visitors in your portfolios. That should be simple enough.

Remember, as a WSM customer, you will also be able to offer our e-courses to your site visitors, so you will want to incorporate these into your website and email campaign, as well as our popular Did You Know? eGazette series.

The point I'm making here is that with any of the copy you'll find at this site (which you're welcome to "borrow") and at our Associate Promo Center... I'm providing you with all the pieces to the puzzle. I'm just leaving it up to YOU to put the puzzle together - for your own good! (Why do I suddenly feel like everyones' mother!)

I've provided you with all the content you need to build a handsome, professional web site, while at the same time insuring that it won't be a cookie-cutter, duplicate site because YOU will have to use your own creativity and initiative in determining how you will use or arrange the various elements to make your website a reflection of your own unique vision.

A Few Words About Size

You will also have to determine how large or small you want your site to be. If you are a beginner, you might want to go with a simple mini-site or single sales page. This way you can easily be set up and running in a day.

Or, if you purchase our Whole Kit'nKaBoodle package - all 12 of our Customized portfolios - you might be thinking along the lines of designing a site with a page or pages devoted to the theme of each book. 

For instance, you could have a home page covering the WSM System itself, with your report and subscriber form, and then interior pages headed by pictures of each of the books and perhaps write-ups of a few featured affiliate programs. If you purchased a single package, you might create a theme-based content site around the particular topic of your package. So, for instance, if you purchased all the books in our Web Presence package, you might build a site around all that goes into the actual process of setting up a business online.

Actually, if you plan of getting all our portfolios, you might consider developing a series of websites - all interlinked (Michael Campbell has just come out with Revenge of the MiniNet, a great book on this very subject. Or you could use Stephen Pierce's Smart Page strategy (made simple with Andre Morin's nifty Smart Page Generator software) to engineer yourself a top ranking in Google (although to be honest, I still feel you're better off with the all-in-one SBI). 

If you have your e-book dispersal systems (sign-up forms and/or download links) located on several different websites, you can use our e-books as a super effective viral means of cross-promoting your various ventures!

Remember a while back I was talking about your customization options, and I mentioned the "Other Recommended WSM Courses" page at the end of each book that you can customize with your own affiliate links or website urls, thereby cross-promoting each of your customized profit portfolios. 

Well, if you put your website URLs in those links you will not only be cross- promoting your portfolios, you will be cross-promoting your websites and, along with them your various lists.

But What If My Business Goals Actually Have Nothing With Internet Marketing?

Now, let's take a minute to get two things straight here. First off, your initial list or lists are primarily going to be made up of folks who are interested, just as you are, in starting up or building up a business online. This does not mean that you have to only focus on this topic in your business pursuits. Lord knows, there are more than enough of us treading these waters already. 

But, the fact remains that everybody has to start somewhere, and -- unless you are really lucky -- you can't really build a successful business online until you understand how it all really works -- so you have to educate yourself in the basics of conducting business online before you branch out to your specialty or niche market. 

When you do, you will merely develop offers designed to pull in subscribers for that particular niche. As you will learn when you go through our courses and the courses of the masters, the more targeted lists you can develop (corresponding to your multiple streams of income), the more effective you become as a marketer, the faster you will gain entree into the BIG Leagues.
